NHATS

The NHATS User Guide is designed to provide analysts with documentation about NHATS concepts, measures, and characteristics relevant to data analysis. The User Guide provides comprehensive descriptions of the NHATS conceptual framework, content of the baseline instruments, data file structure, created measures (including their origin), and information on special data manipulation topics. NSOC

The NSOC User Guide provides descriptions of the study design, content, and data collection and information on related topics. For more information, please see "National Study of Caregiving (NSOC) I-III User Guide". For information about the weights and design variables, please see "National Study of Caregiving (NSOC) I-III Weighting Guide". In NSOC III, a 24-hour time diary was administered by telephone to caregivers who provided assistance to an older adult in the last month. The "National Study of Caregiving (NSOC) III Time Diary User Guide: Final Release" provides information on the study design, content, and other important data topics.

DBS

In Round 7 of the National Health and Aging Trends Study (NHATS), dried blood spots (DBS) were collected from eligible sampled persons (SPs). Four assays were conducted to foster study of the biologic risk of disability progression.
