NHATS Round 1 Public Use Final Data Files are Now Available

We are pleased to announce that National Health and Aging Trends Study (NHATS) Round 1 Public Use Final Data files are now available for download at http://www.nhatsdata.org/. Data are available in both SAS and STATA formats. New technical papers are available and a number of new variables have been added to the files, including scores for the Short Physical Performance Battery. Updated annotated instruments sections, a crosswalk of changes between the Beta and Final data releases, and an updated crosswalk between the data file and instruments can be found at http://www.nhats.org/scripts/dataDocum.htm. We encourage all data users to download the final data sets and documentation. NHATS is designed to be a new platform for scientific inquiry to guide efforts to reduce disability, maximize functioning, and enhance quality of life of older Americans and is funded as a cooperative agreement with the National Institute on Aging.
